ADELE’S ’30’ IS 2021’S TOP SELLING ALBUM IN THREE DAYS

Adele’s 30 is 2021’s top-selling album in the Unites States after selling over 500,000 copies in just three days.

Billboard reports that Adele’s 30 album released on Friday after a six-year hiatus has already become 2021’s top-selling album in the US.

Between November 19 and November 21, more than 500,000 copies. the album had been sold beating Taylor Swift’s Evermore (462,000 copies have sold in 2021, as of last week). The album passed the half-million mark on Sunday — topping the total sales of any album released over the past 11 months combined in three days.

30 has also recorded the biggest sales week of 2021

30 has also recorded the biggest sales week of 2021, coming first place with Red (Taylor’s Version), which sold 369,000 copies in its debut week coming in second.

Billboard also reports that the U.S. equivalent album units earned by 30 – which comprises traditional album sales, streaming equivalent album (SEA) units and track equivalent album (TEA) units — is over 575,000.

The current tracking week ends at close of business on Nov.25. Billboard will announce album’s official final first-week numbers on Sunday, Nov. 28. This will be after MRC Data has completed processing the week’s data.

30 is predicted to debut at No.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart dated Dec. 4 (which reflects the tracking week ending Nov. 25).  This will make it Adele’s third No. 1 album in the U.S.

Her first album in six years, 30, is inspired by Adele’s divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki. The album out via Columbia features previously shared single Easy on Me. It was one of Adele’s many collaborations with Greg Kurstin.

The album also features contributions from Chris Stapleton (on a bonus track), Ludwig Göransson, Max Martin, Tobias Jesso Jr., and Shellback.

Describing the album as her “ride or die throughout the most turbulent period of my life,”. Adele wrote that she considered the album to be “that friend who no matter what, checked in on me even though I’d stocked checking in with them.”
