Manchester United are again on the lookout for a new manager after finally bringing down the axe on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Saturday’s 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road proved to be the final straw, with Michael Carrick placed in caretaker charge for the coming games.
The club will now look to appoint an interim coach for the remainder of the season before naming Solskjaer’s full-time successor in the summer.
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers, former Real Madrid chief Zinedine Zidane and Ajax’s Erik ten Hag are amongst the leading contenders to replace Solskjaer, though Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly ready to make the switch mid-season and Zinedine Zidane has allegedly put down the offer. Luis Enrique, currently in charge of Spain, is another target.

A leading body language expert, Darren Stanton, believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s mannerisms in his final interview as United manager told everyone that he knew the time was right for him to move on.
Solskjaer, despite being sacked on Sunday morning, sat down with the club to do one last interview before leaving the club.
Stanton said: “Solskjaer kept making gestures on his chest with his hand and drawing a line which means he felt in his heart that it was time to move on and let somebody else take up the reins.
“There was lots of positive eye contact and no signs of anything deceptive throughout, so this was a very genuine interview where everything that was said was true.”
Meanwhile, the futures of Donny van de Beek, Paul Pogba, Diogo Dalot and others remain a point of interest as the January transfer window fast approaches.
