There is a fish called the Northern Snakehead that can breathe on land and travel on the ground by wiggling its body.
There is a reason why state governments have been telling anybody who finds one to “kill it immediately”.
These fish have a very big appetite and are eating little birds, reptiles, and other various types of fish. Reproduction also happens very fast with them. Local ecosystems are at risk of destruction and are hanging in the balance due to their existence.
Snakeheads originated in Africa and Asia but were most likely accidentally released by hobbyists or those wanting another food source.
Right now, four different species have shown up in 15 states and there is no end currently in sight.
