WAEC releases 2021 WASSCE results

On Monday, The West African Examinations Council, Nigeria, WAEC releases the 2021 WASSCE results (West African Senior School Certificate Examination for School Candidate), 2021 in Nigeria.

It was earlier heard that the examination body released the results of 80.56% of the candidates that sat for the exams, while the results of 19.44% of the candidates that sat for the exams are still being processed.

The Head of the Nigeria National Office, Mr Patrick Areghan, while announcing the result at the WAEC office said the examination, which was an international one, took place simultaneously throughout the five member countries of the Council – The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.


He added that the same international timetable was used. He adds that it therefore, not true, that WAEC delayed the release the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (SC) 2021 results  as being speculated in some quarters and the release was faster or earlier than release dates of the past.

The examination ended on October 8, 2021, and WAEC releases the 2021 WASSCE results on November 22, 2021 – 45 days after the conduct of the last paper,.

Speaking about the success rate of the candidates who sat for the exam Mr Patrick Areghan, said that this year’s exam recorded better success than the previous year with 89.62% of the candidates obtaining credit and above in a minimum of 5 subjects (with or without English Language and Mathematics), while 81.7% of those who sat for the examinations, obtained credits and above in a minimum of five (5) subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

How Can You Check Your Result

To Check for WAEC result candidates have two options.

1.Log into the WAEC result checking portal using and go through the format stated by the examination body.

2.With their mobile phones through of SMS using the following process.
The candidates are expected to send WAEC*ExamNo*PIN*ExamYear to short-code 32327 (MTN, Celtel & Glo subscribers)
